Steph Curry had plenty of praise from one superstar to another to give Sabrina Ionescu.

The New York Liberty star put on the performance of a lifetime in the WNBA Starry 3-Point Contest. Ionescu made 25 of her 27 attempts for 37 points, setting a record in the process. The former Oregon icon set a new standard for the 3-Point Contest and not just in the W, either.

Even while it happened at 4 p.m. Eastern, it still caught a lot of attention. That included from Curry, as the four-time NBA champion shared his thoughts on the prolific performance. He had a huge weekend as he hit a hole-in-one at the American Century Classic celebrity golf tournament at Lake Tahoe.

Curry joined NBA Today, and Malika Andrews asked him if he’d rather win a golf tournament or win a 3-point contest. The two-time NBA MVP made it clear where he stood.

“Well, now, I gotta go after Sabrina’s record. So, I’ve got something to shoot for now that she went crazy with the 37 points in their All-Star Weekend. So I guess we gotta settle that one for sure. Who’s the better 3-point competition shooter?”

Curry tweeted that he considered her performance to be all-caps “RIDICULOUS” on Friday afternoon.

And to be fair, Sabrina was the first one to issue a challenge. Ionescu tweeted at Curry specifically with the words, “Shoot out??” late Friday evening.

Now that’s a battle we’d like to see.
