One of the biggest differences between the Chase Center, the current home of the Golden State Warriors, and the Oakland Arena, their old home, is the placement of the tunnels. The location of the Chase Center’s tunnel placement makes Steph Curry’s famed tunnel shots significantly more difficult.
A ball boy found that out the hard way on Saturday.
Before Golden State’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday, Curry was in the tunnel behind one basket, trying to make a shot into the other hoop. Given that the shot is more than the length of the court, the shot coming up short is an inherent risk. That happened on Saturday.
And one ball boy, who was standing directly under the hoop, got hit in the head.

Upon seeing this, a lot of fans — knowing how much money Steph Curry makes — were wondering why the ball boy wasn’t channeling his inner Fred Sanford, Redd Foxx’s famed character from Sanford and Son.

It definitely feels like the communication could have (and should have) been a lot better. If Curry is shooting from the other end of the floor, the ball boys and everyone else on the court should probably be aware.
