Former Marquette Golden Eagles head coach Steve Wojciechowski has been away from coaching since departing from the program in 2021. He decided to return to the sport, but he will be doing so at the NBA level instead of the college ranks.
Wojciechowski has been living in the area of Salt Lake City, Utah since leaving Marquette. He will get the opportunity to stay in the city within the Utah Jazz organization.
Reports emerged on Friday that Wojchiechoswki has accepted an offer from the Jazz to coach the Salt Lake City Stars, the team’s G-League affiliate.

It’s a move that makes sense considering he has reportedly spent time around the Jazz organization over the past few seasons while living in the area. He also has a good relationship with Quinn Snyder, the former coach of the organization from 2014-2022 who now coaches the Atlanta Hawks.
Wojchiechoswki had varying success at the collegiate level, coaching Marquette for seven seasons from 2014-2021 and helped the program reach the NCAA Tournament twice. His final record with the program was 128-95 during his tenure.
The former college coach is best well known for being a top assistant of legendary Duke Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski, coaching under him as an assistant for 15 seasons.
The Jazz are a rebuilding organization after trading star guard Donavan Mitchell last offseason. This may make Wojciechowski’s role of development in the G-League an important one for the future success of the Jazz organization.
