The Utah Jazz have possibly the most misplaced name in sports.

Of course they were the New Orleans Jazz until they moved to Utah, and the name somehow stayed with the team when it moved from Louisiana. The franchise has tried to incorporate the culture of Utah into their logo set with the mountains but it’s seemingly a bit dated now, so, it’s time for a change.

The changes, somewhat unexpectedly, aren’t that major.

The logo on the left is one of the logos the Jazz have been using recently, and it actually dates back to their time in New Orleans. The one on the right, however, is new and apes the trend of circular logos which are now all the rage in the NBA. The Jazz’s unique color scheme means you won’t get their new logo mixed up with the Nets, or the Hawks, or the Wizards, or the Raptors, or the Warriors…
