Kyrie Irving had one heck of a start to Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. The Cavaliers point guard finally broke out of his shell after having a bad first pair of games. He had 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including a pair of three-pointers.

But this crossover on Stephen Curry stole the show, and had the fans at Quicken Loans Arena on their feet, hollering at what they had just witnessed:

Irving’s 16 points matched the Warriors’ 16 points in the first quarter. The Cavaliers held a 33-16 lead, and could not have asked for a better start to Game 3 than the effort they put forth in the first 12 minutes.

It won’t have to be 16 points a quarter, but if Irving can keep producing for the Cavaliers, it could very well help them get back into this series, which hasn’t felt like much of a contest through the first two games.
