Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson tide rolled to victory in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Eve over the Kansas State Wildcats.

The Wildcats were supposedly the more motivated team entering the contest and quickly staked themselves to a 10-0 lead in the game. Alabama then went on a 45-10 run to end the game and claim the Sugar Bowl Trophy.

That was when technical difficulties happened when the trophy presenter accidentally congratulated the University of “Alabanza” following the big win:

Congrats on your Sugar Bowl victory, Alabanza!” joked Awful Announcing.

The CFB world was quick to react to the hilarious gaffe:

“All those All State/Sugar Bowl reps were drinking early,” joked one fan.

“‘Alabanza’ absolutely needs to become a thing. Time to reify it,” another fan wrote.

“What a win in the great state of Louikziana,” joked a fan.

This whole segment was gold. From the other guy calling them Alabowl to that same guy flinching when the confetti rockets went off,” Corey Blue wrote.

The good news for Tide fans is the trophy still costs the same despite the hilarious gaffe. The Tide ends their season 10-2, which will be considered a disappointment in a title-decked town like Tuscaloosa.
