Over the past few weeks and months, Iowa Hawkeyes star guard Caitlin Clark has emerged as one of the most exciting players in all of college basketball due to her prolific scoring and impressive shooting. But it’s safe to say the NCAA Tournament didn’t end the way she hoped.

Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes fell to the LSU Tigers in Sunday afternoon’s national title game, but Clark hopes that despite the loss, she could be an inspiration to future players.

“I just think, just the biggest thing is, you know, it’s really, really special. And I don’t think it’s gonna set in for me for quite some time. I hope my legacy to be the impact that I can have on young kids and the people of the state of Iowa. And I hope I brought them a lot of joy this season. I hope the team brought them a lot of joy,” Clark said after the game according to On3. “I understand we came up one win short, but, I think we have a lot to be proud of, and a lot to celebrate. I was just that young girl, so all you have to do is dream and you can be in moments like this.”

Clark could still return to Iowa for one more season if she chooses, but she’s also eligible for the upcoming WNBA Draft.
