LSU Fan

Most guys out there have probably dealt with getting shot down. It happens. The hope, though, is for it to happen in as private a setting as possible and certainly not on national television. During Game 3 of the Men’s College World Series between LSU and Florida, one Tigers fan was not so lucky

LSU was rolling by the Gators. Florida scored twice in the first inning but the Tigers came roaring back. By the time the LSU retired Florida in the bottom of the fifth, the Tigers led 10-2.

Naturally, the cameras found a section of mostly LSU fans in the crowd at Charles Schwab Field and for the most part, they were celebrating. But the camera also caught something else.

A young woman dressed in neutral clothes, had her palm up at a guy in an LSU shirt. She was clearly not looking for a high-five, either. By all appearances, this was a rejection — and a rather definitive one.

A literal stop sign wouldn’t have been this clear. The only thing missing from this was the Dikembe Mutombo finger wag.

There are two ways of looking at this. One is to show this LSU fan sympathy. Two, is to make jokes — a lot of jokes.

Option No. 2 is generally the one people take in these kind of situations. And this was no exception.
