Friday’s matchup between the Missouri Tigers and Florida Gators featured an insane web gem that caught the attention of the college baseball world in a big way.
One of the wildest catches that the baseball world has ever seen took place in the third inning of Friday’s contest. Already down 6-0, it wasn’t Mizzou’s day at the ballpark, but it certainly was Cam Chick’s. The fifth-year senior left fielder laid out to make a catch. After originally catching the ball, it popped out of Chick’s glove, then hit the back of his head, rolled off his back and into his glove.

Fans took to social media after the play to praise Chick for an absolutely fantastic effort to not only keep the play alive but have the awareness to complete the catch after the ball was rolling on his back.
“This is insanity,” wrote Joe Healy of D1 Baseball.
“Better odds at powerball than seeing this again,” said CJZero on Twitter.
“I don’t even understand the physics of this,” wrote Trey Mongrue. “The ball seemed to be both in front and behind him simultaneously.”
“Yo, @SportsCenter, you have your No. 1,” said Ben Frederickson of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
“Absolutely ridiculous catch,” Keith Malinak wrote.
This is certainly a play you’ll be seeing on SportsCenter come Saturday morning.
