Florida State softball picked up a huge win over 3rd-ranked Oklahoma State on Friday night, but that wasn’t the biggest story of the night.

Sophomore catcher Michaela Edenfield brought the house down with an absolutely monstrous home run. The tape-measure three-run blast from Edenfield propped the ‘Noles up 4-0 at the time of the dinger.

“OMG AREA 51!!!!!! A THREE-RUN SHOT,” the FSU Softball Twitter account exclaimed.

FSU would go on to post a huge -5 victory to earn a win over the third-ranked Cowgirls. This is a huge nonconference series in the month of March and while conference play has begun for some, this matchup has a lot of attraction to it. And for plenty of good reason, as we saw with this incredible home run.

Video of the homer went around Twitter and drew awe from fans and otherwise in the softball world.

The Seminoles’ official athletic account jumped on to celebrate the blast.

One fan joked that the announcers “made it sound like a can of corn.”

Alison Posey, ABC 27 sports director in Tallahassee, claimed the ball hadn’t landed yet. It still might not have!

Curt Weiler called the home run “an absolute moon shot.” Hard to argue!

And one Seminole fan joked about how the Oklahoma State pitcher was caught cussing in her glove.
