The odds are probably pretty good that the players on Temple’s men’s basketball team have taken a ride on a subway before. After all, it is a quick and efficient way to get around their home city of Philadelphia when needed. But have they ever taken a subway to a basketball game? Have they ever taken a subway to an NCAA Tournament game? Well, now they can say they have.
While some teams will take a charter bus to their big game in the tournament from the team hotel, Temple opted to take the subway to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, where they’ll take on Iowa from the Big Ten for the right to play Big 5 and local rival Villanova on Sunday in Round 2.
