With South Carolina in the thick of the SEC East race (oh wait, Florida already clinched that)… I mean, with the Gamecocks fighting for mediocre bowl positioning, the team’s coach will hold practice on Thanksgiving.
While South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp probably isn’t the only one who is doing such a thing, his justification is ridiculous. For all of you ready to celebrate Thanksgiving day festivities, Muschamp believes you’re really just celebrating a meal.
Here’s the full quote so people don’t think we’re taking it out of context.
“We’ve got practice in the morning,” Muschamp told reporters on Tuesday. “We’ll be in here early. It’s awesome. Thanksgiving is a meal. It’s not a day. We’re going to have a great meal and then we’re going to watch a little tape, then maybe watch a little more tape.”
This reasoning might be stupider than the idea that Muschamp should’ve gotten two SEC head coaching jobs. It’s hard to name a major holiday besides Halloween that doesn’t have a major meal included with it. So what if it’s centered around eating? Just about every holiday is now. Welcome to 2016, Will.
Thankfully, the folks on Twitter dot com were willing to bring some humor into this situation (Sorry, South Carolina)
so what you're saying is someone employed the state of South Carolina is ignoring something first proclaimed by Abraham Lincoln

I don’t really mind Muschamp holding this practice, but does he really have to put his foot in his mouth like this? I wonder if this practice on a day that contains a meal instead of a holiday will really help when they get crushed by Clemson.
