San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey has provided a massive boost to the 49ers offense since the team acquired him in the middle of the 2022-23 season. And he will be looking to continue an absurd streak of consecutive games with a touchdown on Thursday Night Football against the New York Giants.

McCaffrey has been Mr. Reliable since joining the 49ers, consistently making an impact in the red zone for the 49ers that has completely changed how their team operates.

The All-Pro running back has played 16 games in total for the 49ers. Of those games, he has scored at least one rushing or receiving touchdown in all but three of those games.

Even more impressive is his current streak of consecutive games with a touchdown. He has scored a touchdown in each of his 11 games in San Francisco, which includes the postseason run last year.

This streak puts McCaffrey in some very rare company amongst the elite running backs in NFL history. Including McCaffrey, only four other players have put together this kind of streak. Emmitt Smith did so twice in his career, along with Arian Foster and LaDainian Tomlinson.

Smith is the one who holds the all-time record, putting together 14 consecutive games with a touchdown in the 1995-96 season.

That record is certainly in sight for McCaffrey, who will need to start by scoring a touchdown on TNF against the Giants to keep this streak alive.

On paper, it seems like a very promising matchup to keep this streak intact for McCaffrey. The Arizona Cardinals rushed for two touchdowns in a shootout against the Giants in Week 2.

Fans offered their opinion on McCaffrey’s impressive streak, and believe that it could very well be extended on Thursday night.
