The San Francisco 49ers have looked like a juggernaut this season. Despite quarterback uncertainty, Brock Purdy has stood in tough and played well. The defense has been elite, and the team is 3-0 heading into October. Among the team’s best players has been Christian McCaffrey. The NFL honored McCaffrey for his efforts in September by announcing that he was named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Month.

“A September to remember for CMC!” his 49ers boasted on X, formerly known as Twitter. The post featured a release on McCaffrey’s performance this past month.

The former Stanford star had an outstanding month with the 49ers. McCaffrey rushed for 353 yards and averaged 5.9 yards per carry on 60 rushing attempts. What’s more, he found the end zone three times, scoring a touchdown in every game this season.

His 353 rushing yards currently lead the NFL. Additionally, McCaffrey ranks first in yards per game at 117.7 yards/game.

While he hasn’t scored a receiving touchdown, McCaffrey also logged numerous receptions this month. He finished September with 11 receptions for 70 yards. The Niners haven’t needed to get him super involved in the passing game yet. But, when they do, he might be a bigger tidal wave to deal with.

We’ll see McCaffrey and the 49ers this Sunday when they welcome the 1-2 Arizona Cardinals to Levi’s Stadium.

The NFL world had plenty to say about the Christian McCaffrey announcement.
