Ever since Aaron Rodgers suffered an Achilles injury during his first game with the New York Jets earlier this season, there has been a lot of speculation that the future Hall of Fame quarterback could make a miraculously quick recovery and return to the team this season, but one NFL insider does not seem to think that’s the most likely scenario.

According to a report from NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, it’s “most likely” that Aaron Rodgers does not return to the New York Jets until the team begins organized team activities in 2024.

“A source positioned to make informed estimates on the situation believes the most likely return for Rodgers, at this point, will be the start of OTAs in 2024,” Florio wrote for Pro Football Talk.

Florio did outline a scenario where Rodgers does return to the Jets this season, but it does not sound all that likely, as it would require the Jets remaining squarely in playoff contention for the remainder of the season.

“For Rodgers to come back in 2023, it likely would have to happen by Week 15 at the latest, against the Commanders. And the Jets would have to be 7-7 or 8-6 at that point, since 10 games likely will be needed to get to the postseason,” Florio wrote.

It’s pretty brutal news that Rodgers isn’t all that likely to return this season, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

Still, there’s always a chance Rodgers beats everyone’s expectations.
