One of the big storylines hanging over Super Bowl LVII between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles is whether or not this will be if Chiefs coach Andy Reid decided to retire afterward.
If the Chiefs win, Reid will have his second Super Bowl championship as a head coach (third overall) and won’t have anything left to prove in the NFL. Even if Kansas City loses to the Eagles, Reid will still have been able to say he took the team to three Super Bowls in four seasons, not to mention the Super Bowl he led Philadelphia to as their head coach.
Fox Sports NFL insider Jay Glazer said Sunday that he spoke to Reid and asked the 64-year-old if this might be his last game. The Chiefs’ head coach certainly didn’t say no.
"He said, 'Look, I'm not getting any younger. I still have a young quarterback. I have a decision I have to make after this game.'"- Jay Glazer on Andy Reid possibly retiring after the #SuperBowl. pic.twitter.com/x3TznP2zbj

“Look, I’m not getting any younger. I still have a young quarterback. I have a decision I have to make after this game,” Reid told Glazer.
Win or lose, you couldn’t blame Reid for making either decision. It would probably make it a lot easier to walk away if Kansas City hoists the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the night. But if he does decide to come back, he’s still got Patrick Mahomes and the Chief’s high-powered offense to propel them back into the Super Bowl hunt next season as well.
