Antonio Brown is in the news again, but rather than being in legal trouble, he’s placing the blame on a former teammate for his current condition.

Brown said during an Instagram Live that one of his former teammates on the Pittsburgh Steelers, James Harrison, delivered him a blow to the head and ever since then, he’s been super aggressive. Brown didn’t specify when it took place, though the 44-year-old Harrison last played in the NFL in 2017.

“I wanted to tell you guys that I think James Harrison gave me CTE,” Brown said in an Instagram live that was later tweeted by Blitz Guy. “James Harrison had an illegal helmet for over 20 years in the NFL. And he hit me one time. And ever since he hit me, I’ve been super aggressive. So, blame James Harrison for my CTE.”

It’s hard to take Brown at his word considering his checkered past.

First of all, CTE is linked to repeated head injuries and blows to the head, so it’s unlikely that one head trauma caused Brown to form a serious brain condition. Another thing worth mentioning here is that Brown doesn’t specify when this took place. It’s not like he has to. but given the seven-year overlap when Brown and Harrison were either teammates or rivals, it would help his case if he gave people a general idea when this happened.

Brown obviously hasn’t been the same since he left Pittsburgh, but he also hasn’t taken responsibility for any of his actions either. Blaming Harrison for his CTE is just another step in that direction.
