Fans of the Arizona Cardinals were hit with some pretty unfortunate news on Friday evening when it was revealed that Cardinals star defensive back Budda Baker formally requested a trade from the team back in February. And this is just one of several unfortunate things the team has had to deal with this offseason.

As Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team points out, it has been a rough several months for the Cardinals.

“#Cardinals current reality:

Kyler Murray: Recovering from ACL
Budda Baker: Requests trade
DeAndre Hopkins: Likely gone
JJ Watt: Retired
Zach Allen: Left in FA
Byron Murphy: Left in FA
Zach Ertz: Recovering from ACL

Plus, their owner was recently accused of cheating, discrimination and harassment,” Meirov said in a tweet on Friday night.

And that doesn’t even account for the fact that the team has a first-year head coach after firing Kliff Kingsbury. The franchise was ranked next-to-last in the NFL Player’s Association’s report cards of each franchise in the league, indicating that players are not happy with the facilities and the organization.

It’s a tough time to be a Cardinals fan, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

We’ll have to see if the Cardinals can get things turned around.
