When the Arizona Cardinals traded quarterback Joshua Dobbs to the Minnesota Vikings ahead of the NFL trade deadline on Tuesday afternoon, it left the team with just two quarterbacks on the roster – star Kyler Murray and rookie Clayton Tune, a fifth-round pick out of Houston. But as it turns out, the team is adding a third quarterback.

On Wednesday, the Arizona Cardinals announced the addition of veteran quarterback Jeff Driskel to add some much-needed depth to the quarterback position. This is a reunion of sorts for Driskel and the team as he previously signed with the Cardinals in April and was on the practice squad until he was released on Oct. 20.

A sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Driskel has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, the Cincinnati Bengals, the Detroit Lions, the Denver Broncos, and the Houston Texans before joining the Cardinals this year.

Though Driskel has never been a full-time starting quarterback in the league in more than seven seasons in the NFL, he does have plenty of in-game experience, appearing in 23 games in his career and starting 11. Throughout his time in the league, he has completed 59.2 percent of his passes for 2,228 yards and 14 touchdowns while throwing eight interceptions.
