Last week, Tom Brady made waves around the NFL when he took a shot at the league, claiming he sees “a lot of mediocre football” in the modern era of the NFL. But legendary Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders doesn’t seem to agree.

During an appearance on Robert Griffin III’s podcast this week, Barry Sanders called out Tom Brady for his opinion a little bit, claiming he doesn’t see the same thing Brady sees and offering a humorous reason why that might be the case.

“Maybe he’s talking about the teams he played for, but the team I played for?” Sanders said according to Pro Football Talk. “The team that I played for, no. It’s anything but mediocre. I saw that comment somewhere. Look, for us as Lions fans, maybe I just have blinders on, because of how we’re leading the division, how well we’re playing. But I still see a great product. Still see great teams and a very popular game. I would listen to anything he has to say, and I’d have to get into more detail what he’s referring to, but I think this is the greatest product, the greatest thing we’ve ever seen as Lions fans. So I’m gonna enjoy this for a while.”

Of course, Sanders might have a point as the New England Patriots are in the middle of their worst season in decades and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers currently have just a 4-6 record in their first season without Brady.
