Chicago Bears rookie quarterback Tyson Bagent was on the receiving end of a nasty hit on Thursday night’s game against the Carolina Panthers. And fans certainly took notice of the play, with many worrying about a potential head injury.

The Bears found themselves trailing 10-6 near the end of the first half but were looking to add more points before going to halftime.

Bagent scrambled on a play with 59 seconds remaining in the half, and took a massive hit from a Panthers defender which caused him to land on his head.

Bagent was clearly shaken up on the play, taking him a second to get back to his feet. Luckily for Bears fans, he was able to finish out the drive despite seemingly being affected by his head hitting the ground. They would end up getting a field goal out of the drive to cut the Panthers’ lead to just one.

But fans were far more concerned with Bagent, who wasn’t examined after the hit to the head.

With all the talk around concussions in the NFL, it is quite surprising that we didn’t see Bagent leave the field momentarily to be checked for a potential head injury.

Luckily, it seems like Bagent didn’t end up being all that compromised from the hit to the head. After halftime, he came right back in to quarterback the Bears after the Panthers were forced to punt on their first possession in the second half.
