During his rookie season with the Atlanta Falcons, running back Bijan Robinson had a pretty stellar season as he finished the year just 24 rushing yards shy of the century mark. But it sounds like he has some pretty bold plans to more than double that rushing total next season.

As Bijan Robinson prepares for his second season in the league, he has a pretty lofty goal for himself: to reach 2,000 rushing yards next season.

“I want 2,000 yards rushing,” Robinson said according to Daniel Flick of Sports Illustrated. “I know those are big expectations, what we can do as an offense, with all the weapons, our O-line, with Zac being at the helm, it can be something special. I think it’s going to be one of those special seasons that Atlanta’s been waiting for us and all of us as players have been waiting for. So, let’s get it.”

If he’s able to reach 2,000 yards on the ground, it would put him in some rare company.

Only one running back has eclipsed 2,000 yards in a single season in the past decade – Derrick Henry in 2020 – and only four running backs have reached that total over the past 25 years.

We’ll have to see if Robinson can pull it off.
