The New England Patriots suffered another disappointing loss this weekend, falling to the Indianapolis Colts in a game that was played in Germany after a late interception from quarterback Bailey Zappe after the team benched starer Mac Jones. The struggles at the quarterback position and the team’s decision to bench Jones during multiple games this season have led to a lot of questions, but head coach Bill Belichick doesn’t necessarily want to answer them.

During a press conference this week, Bill Belichick was asked whether or not Mac Jones will remain the starter for the team going forward.

In typical fashion, Belichick declined to answer the question explicitly, and instead simply said that the team has “a lot of things to work on” as they head into a bye week.

“We have a lot of things to work on this week as a team. We’ll work through those. That is what we are going to do this week,” Belichick said according to Christopher Price of the Boston Globe.

It’s clear that the team hasn’t necessarily been committed to Jones this season as they have been willing to bench him multiple times during games, but it’s also clear that they don’t love the other options on their roster, either.

We’ll have to see what the team decides to do.
