The Buffalo Bills are set to face off against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. And ahead of the game, the team made a somewhat surprising decision regarding backup safety Damar Hamlin.

Hamlin is of course best known for his unfortunate injury against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17 of the regular season last year.

His inspiring return to football drew a bunch of attention his way. But that doesn’t mean that he has exactly been all that useful for the Bills on the field this season.

Hamlin has been a healthy inactive in every game this year aside from one, a Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins where he played just 18 special teams snaps.

Luckily for Hamlin, he may have just gotten the break he needs to see some significant time on the field. The Bills released their final injury report for the game on Monday night, listing Hamlin as active for the game. This likely comes due to Micah Hyde being listed as inactive due to a neck injury.

It’s unclear whether or not Hamlin will ultimately see much significant action in the game. But fans are certainly excited that he is at least listed as active for the game.

Even if Hamlin doesn’t see the field significantly, it should still be a huge boost to the morale of the team to have Hamlin out there given his unbelievable comeback story.
