Bobby Wagner is bidding farewell to the Seattle Seahawks. Again. This time, fans know he won’t be coming back.

So after the 10-time All Pro left a touching farewell message to fans Wednesday, they showed their love for the legend.

The veteran linebacker is signing a one-year, $8.5 million contract with the Washington Commanders, according to a report Wednesday by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Wagner had arguably his finest season in Seattle last year, posting an NFL-leading and career-high 183 tackles. It was an unexpectedly successful return to the Seahawks. He had left Seattle in March 2022 to sign a five-year free agent deal with the Los Angeles Rams.

But LA released him after the season by mutual agreement, setting up the encore performance in the Pacific Northwest.

Seattle fans know Wagner won’t be performing a second encore, although don’t be surprised to see the future Hall of Famer don a Seahawks jersey someday at a retirement press conference.

Wagner tweeted a nice message to fans Wednesday: “Seattle, we’ve done this before. You know what it is. It’s always love. Until we meet again. I’m around.”

Seattle’s legendary fans, the 12s, responded in force to the message.
