While Jackson Mahomes deals with a sexual battery case that led to his arrest last month, his sister-in-law Brittany Mahomes shared some cryptic messages that had the NFL world wondering what they meant.

Mahomes posted the curious Instagram Stories but deleted them soon after. Not so soon that they weren’t screenshotted, however.

So far, neither Patrick nor Brittany Mahomes has spoken out about Jackson’s sexual battery case publicly, but there’s a lot of speculation that her messages have something to do with it.

“As you get older you start to understand the difference between friends and associates, family and blood, business and work, love and lust, want and need. And most of all what’s important and what’s not,” read one of the messages.

“Unfortunately, a lot of y’all met me when I lacked boundaries and was a people pleaser. Let me reintroduce myself, I burn bridges as needed,” read another message.

Under the second quote, she added “sheesh” and a clapping-hand emoji.

The only time she previously discussed the situation was when she was asked about Jackson’s situation last month before he had been charged and arrested. During an Instagram Q&A, Brittany reacted to the criticism that her brother-in-law receives for his influencer behavior.

“They are ignorant,” she responded in her Instagram Stories. “He is a human just trying to live his life and find his way and until you walk a day in his shoes (which no one ever will) you have no right to say s— about him. So it’s best to just shut up.”
