The Arizona Cardinals are awaiting the return of star quarterback Kyler Murray, which will almost certainly be a huge boost to their offense. Unfortunately, they will need to wait a little longer.

Murray returned to practice earlier this week, which is obviously a great sign of where he is at in his recovery process from his torn ACL last season.

However, he is not quite ready to take the field yet for the Cardinals. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Murray has been ruled out of the Cardinals’ Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

This was the expected outcome for the Cardinals, as it was always assumed that Murray would need some time once he returned to practice to both get up to game speed, and make sure that he is fully healthy.

That doesn’t make the news any less disappointing for Cardinals fans, who took to social media to voice their displeasure with the announcement.

This means that Joshua Dobbs will get yet another start in Week 7 for the Cardinals. And that actually may not be such a bad thing for the Cardinals, as he has been a pleasant surprise for Cardinals fans this season.

Thus far this season, Dobbs has put up an 84.0 passer rating on the year, which surprisingly ranks higher than the likes of Matthew Stafford and Joe Burrow.

While Dobbs has been solid in relief of Murray, there is no debate about who the starter would be in Arizona if Murray were fully healthy and ready to play.

It obviously remains to be seen when Murray will return for the Cardinals, but the fans will need to wait at least one more week to see him on the field.
