Carson Wentz has a big game coming up this Sunday as the Indianapolis Colts take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. At 4-5, the Colts need every win they can get in order to get in the playoff hunt and this is one of those games they simply need to win.

The only thing standing in Wentz’s way is a little thing called the birth of his second child. Wentz’s wife, Madison, is due to give birth any day now and there’s a decent chance it could happen this weekend or even on Sunday.

Regardless of when it happens, however, Wentz has made it clear he will be in uniform and on the field instead of being in scrubs in the hospital.

“I could get a call at any point here. We’re excited. We’re excited as a family. If it comes down to a game, I told my wife I’m playing and then I’ll see you at the hospital afterwards,” Wentz said on Wednesday. “She knew that. She’s been great. Coach has been understanding with meetings and everything. We’ll see what happens. I’m confident God will time it up the way it’s supposed to work out. We’re pretty excited as a family.”

Wentz seems to have gotten his quarterback career back on track in his first season with the Colts, completing 63.3% of his passes for 2,198 yards and 17 touchdowns to only three interceptions. Colts fans are counting on him to bring the franchise back to its former glory, but is he sacrificing too special a moment in order to do so? As you could imagine, social media had opinions.

If Wentz does end up missing the birth of his child for the game, he better hope he leads the Colts to victory. Because if he ends up losing to the Jaguars, that’s the kind of failed trade-off that haunts you.
