The Los Angeles Chargers received some horrible news regarding former Pro Bowl center Corey Linsley, who has been an integral part of their offense over the years.

Obviously, the Chargers have a number of standout players on offense like Justin Herbert, Austin Ekeler, and Keenan Allen who receive much of the praise whenever things are going well for the team.

However, Linsley has been as important as any on the Chargers offense since joining the team in 2021, earning his lone Pro Bowl appearance in 2021 with the team. He has also been an extremely reliable piece of their offensive line, only missing three games for the team during his tenure with the Chargers.

Unfortunately, Linsley is now set to miss some time after being diagnosed with a non-emergent heart-related medical issue, according to The Athletic’s Daniel Popper. The team is expected to place him on the IR on Saturday, meaning he will miss at least the next four games for the Chargers.

According to Popper, the Chargers did not reveal the exact issue with Linsley’s heart that is causing his incoming IR visit. However, they did detail that he will meet with outside specialists in the coming days to gather more information on his ailment.

A heart issue is obviously not anything to mess around with, so fans were understanding when it came to this news, and hope that he is able to overcome this issue moving forward.

Injuries are unfortunately beginning to pile up on the Chargers offense, as Linsley will join star wide receiver Mike Williams on the IR. He suffered a devastating torn ACL in their Week 3 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
