Los Angeles Chargers defensive end Khalil Mack has been a force to reckon with since entering the league in 2014.

Sunday afternoon against the Las Vegas Raiders was no different, as Mack wreaked havoc on the franchise that drafted him.

Mack set the Chargers single-game record with six sacks, breaking the previous record of five set by Leslie O’Neal in November 1986 against the Dallas Cowboys.

This is the second time in his career Mack has recorded five or more sacks in a game, with the other coming against the Denver Broncos in December 2015 when Mack was with the Raiders.

Mack is just the fourth player in NFL history with six or more sacks in one game, joining Derrick Thomas (twice), Osi Umenyiora, and Fred Dean as the others.

Mack now has 90.5 career sacks, making him one of just seven active players to cross the 90-sack threshold.

The 2016 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Mack has recorded eight or more sacks in seven of his nine seasons so far. He also has been a four-time First Team All-Pro. After spending his first four seasons with the Raiders, Mack was traded to the Chicago Bears in September 2018 where he would spend the following four seasons before being traded to the Chargers for draft picks prior to the 2022 season.

Social media had plenty to say about Mack’s feat.
