After a disappointing brief stint with the Chicago Bears, it looks like wide receiver Chase Claypool is moving onto a new team as the Bears have agreed to a trade that will send the wide receiver to the Miami Dolphins.

On Friday morning, NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that the Bears were trading Claypool and a 2025 seventh-round pick to the Miami Dolphins in return for a 2025 sixth-round pick.

“The #Bears are trading WR Chase Claypool to the #Dolphins, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. This ends a prolonged drama and gives Claypool a fresh start. They have tried to trade him since last week after he was a healthy scratch. Now, everyone moves on,” Rapoport said in a post on Friday morning.

The Bears added Chase Claypool last year by way of a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers in an effort to bolster their wide receivers room, but he’s been highly disappointing since joining the Bears in the middle of last year, especially this season.

In the three games he played with the Bears this season, he has just four catches for 51 yards and a touchdown on 14 targets and has effort has been called into question on social media by fans and media alike.

The NFL world had plenty to say about the announcement.

We’ll have to see if Claypool can bounce back in Miami.
