Heading into Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers superstar running back Christian McCaffrey had scored a touchdown in 17 straight games, tying him with Lenny Moore for the NFL record for consecutive games with a touchdown. That streak came to an end when McCaffrey failed to find the end zone, but he doesn’t sound all that worried about it.

During a press conference this week, Christian McCaffrey made it clear that it “meant a lot” to tie such an impressive NFL record, but he’s ultimately not worried about it because the team victory was much more important to him in the long run.

“The middle of the season, you’re just preparing each week the same exact way, whether or not there’s all that,” McCaffrey said according to 49ers Webzone. “The individual statistics stuff, I think you kind of focus on at the end of the year and appreciate it for what it is. But obviously, winning is the most important thing.”

Even if he didn’t get his touchdown, McCaffrey still had a successful day on the ground, rushing for 95 yards on 16 carries. So he certainly did his part to help lead his team to victory in the game, even if he wasn’t the one finding the end zone.
