San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey has played a heavy number of snaps for the team over the first two weeks of the season, but he doesn’t sound all that concerned about the heavy workload.

During Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Christian McCaffrey played all 57 of the team’s offensive snaps. This came after playing 58 of the 68 snaps in the season opener. But McCaffrey doesn’t sound too worried about playing such a heavy workload the first two weeks.

“I think it’s all dependent on how the game’s going,” McCaffrey said according to Alex Espinoza of 95.7 The Game. “We had a lot of breaks last game. Sometimes, that’s just how it goes. There’s going to be games, too, where Mitchell gets four or five carries in a row on multiple drives because he’s playing well, and he’s feeling it, and I’ll be out.

“It’s really such a situational thing. I don’t think it’s ever a plan for us to get all the carries or not. It’s just sometimes that’s just how the games go.”

We’ll have to see how the running backs rotation shakes out throughout the season, but it’s clear that McCaffrey is going to be featured heavily in the offense.
