Former Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is amongst the best players that have ever played for the Bengals. He along with former Bengals star quarterback Boomer Esiason will receive a special honor from the team this NFL season.

Ochocinco ranks atop of Bengals record books in a large majority of career stats, including catches, receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, targets, and games played.

He is also adored by Bengals fans, and they will certainly be happy to hear that both he and Esiason will be inducted to the team’s Ring of Honor on September 25th during halftime of the Bengals game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Fans clearly took notice of this news and believe that it is a long overdue honor for both former players.

Johnson took to social media to express his gratitude to the organization after this decision was made.

“Truly an honor because I’m still here to smell the flowers,” tweeted Ochocinco.

The Bengals have had a number of excellent receivers over the years including A.J. Green, Tee Higgins, and Ja’Marr Chase. There is certainly an argument that Chase could potentially take over Ochocinco’s position as likely the best receiver in franchise history.

However, until he proves it for a sustained period like Ochocinco did, he will hold onto that title in the hearts of most Bengals fans. And he will now have a spot in Bengals history forever in their Ring of Honor.
