The Los Angeles Rams jumped out to an early lead in Super Bowl LVI thanks to an early touchdown from quarterback Matthew Stafford to Odell Beckham Jr. to put them up 13-3, and the Cincinnati Bengals have answered back in a very unconventional way.

The Bengals drove down the field in a methodical 12-play drive that was capped off by a six-yard touchdown throw from Bengals running back Joe Mixon to wide receiver Tee Higgins, getting the Bengals within three points.

Mixon — a Pro Bowl selection — has been a huge part of the Bengals’ success so far this season, rushing for 1,205 yards.

This was the first completed pass in Mixon’s career, and it couldn’t have come at a better time for the Bengals.

The odds before the game on a non-quarterback to throw for a touchdown were +250, so bettors who decided to throw some money on that will be very happy about the trick play.
