Houston Texans rookie sensation C.J. Stroud has been sidelined for the past two games as he goes through concussion protocol after suffering a head injury during the team’s loss to the New York Jets earlier this month, but it sounds like there’s a chance that he could return next week.
According to a report from ESPN, there is “optimism” that C.J. Stroud could return from his concussion for next week’s game against the Tennessee Titans.
“Despite being ruled out for his second straight game due to a concussion, Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud has begun to make some progress, and there is optimism he could be ready to play next week at home against the Tennessee Titans, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter,” ESPN reported on Sunday afternoon.
The Texans would certainly love to have him back as the team is in the midst of a crucial stretch as they attempt to clinch a spot in the postseason. The Texans were able to notch an overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans last week with Case Keenum serving as the team’s starter, but the offense as struggled to move the ball or score consistently without Stroud leading the way.
