Cleveland Browns quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson received good news this week when he won the backup role to Deshaun Watson.
But the rookie received some bad news on Saturday when the NFL fined him $4,642 for a blindside block he leveled against the Philadelphia Eagles in a preseason contest.
Did anyone have "quarterback gets penalized for an illegal blindside block" on their bingo card?

During the preseason, Thompson-Robinson has shown a knack for getting out in front of his receivers and running backs and being willing to put his body on the line by throwing a block.
Despite the penalty, Thompson shined in a game that helped the Browns feel confident in dealing veteran quarterback Joshua Dobbs, whom the team initially signed to back up Deshaun Watson, to the Arizona Cardinals last week.
“First of all, I’m thankful for the opportunity to be able to go out there and do that,” Thompson-Robinson said about his first professional start. “I thought it felt pretty good. It felt like we moved the ball pretty well when I was in there. Obviously, there’s some throws and some plays I want back and some calls, but overall I thought I did a pretty good job for my first time out there.”
While Watson will have the reins to begin the season, the Browns certainly appear to have found something in the fifth-round draft pick.
