The New York Jets brought in a lot of talent this offseason, particularly at wide receiver, bringing in big-name receivers Allen Lazard, Randall Cobb, and Mecole Hardman. But they still kept veteran wide receiver Corey Davis, and it sounds like he’s glad they did.

During a recent interview, Corey Davis admitted that the whole situation was out of his control as he waited to see if the Jets would keep him on the roster despite all the other additions. He certainly faced some uncertainty during the offseason, but he’s glad to be back with the team.

“All of that was out of my control,” Davis said according to Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post. “It was kind of a long offseason. There was a point where there was uncertainty. Obviously with all the moves going on, it’s hard not to think that. It’s still a business, but I’m happy to be here. Happy they kept me.”

It remains unclear just how much the other additions will affect Davis’ role with the team this upcoming season, but it is clear that he is happy to be back with the team for another season. And he’ll likely enjoy catching passes from future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
