For several years, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been considered among the top quarterbacks in the entire NFL, but he has yet to win a Super Bowl. And Troy Aikman, who won three Super Bowls with the Cowboys, has a message for him.
During an interview with the Dallas Morning News this week, Troy Aikman made it clear that he thinks Dak Prescott acknowledges that the standards are high in Dallas.
“What I’m most proud of in my career is the fact of whatever success the team of the ‘70s had, and Roger had winning Super Bowls, with our ability to win three, that now is the bar,’’ Aikman said according to the Dallas Morning News. “And Dak recognizes that.’’
Aikman said that he admires Prescott’s willingness to embrace the challenge of being the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.
“Dak has never cowered to the expectations of winning the Super Bowl,’’ Aikman said. “He’s taken that head on. He’s the only one I’ve heard since I’ve played that is really been that adamant about that being the standard for a Cowboys quarterback.’’
We’ll have to see if Prescott will ever be able to lead the Cowboys to a Super Bowl himself.
