After the Minnesota Vikings released him earlier this month, Dalvin Cook still hopes to find a new home. Some are concerned about whether he can return to the player he once was after he underwent surgery in March. However, Cook made it clear that he thinks he can have the best season of his career next season.

Cook has been one of the best running backs in the league since getting drafted out of Florida State in the 2017 NFL Draft, earning four Pro Bowl appearances over his career. However, the value of his position continues to plummet around the NFL, and there are concerns about how he will play after an off-season surgery to repair a torn labrum.

He spoke to ESPN’s Adam Schefter about his recovery from the surgery, saying that he believes that he can bounce back and have as strong of a season as he has ever had in his career.

“It’s always in the back of your head,” said Cook on his lingering labrum injury that he finally got fixed. “When you get the ball, it’s always in your head. Now that it’s over, I can be back to Florida State Dalvin Cook and just turn it loose. I’m just ready to go have fun.”

Teams have been pretty slow to move on potentially signing Cook thus far. However, it certainly sounds like Dalvin Cook has the right mindset and feels poised to have another great year on whatever team he does ultimately sign with.
