Washington Commanders team President Jason Wright has been with the team since 2020, working alongside previous team owner Dan Snyder. But now that Snyder has sold the team, it sounds like Wright is a lot more optimistic.

During the introductory press conference for new team owner Josh Harris, Jason Wright had a pretty brutal message for previous owner Dan Snyder, making it clear just how optimistic and excited everyone is now that he’s gone.

“Things are shifting today,” Wright said according to Pro Football Talk. “And I’m really grateful to be here and I thank each and every one of you for being here with us. It’s an exciting day for the Commanders franchise. It’s an exciting day for the nation’s capital. It’s an exciting day for the most loyal and rabid fan base in the NFL. And we’re going to lean into that excitement today. We’ve got some great people to introduce you to. Yes, I like it. I mean, there’s a palpable optimism that just hasn’t been present for some time.”

Washington fans have wanted Snyder out for several years, but it finally happened this offseason. We’ll have to see how things go this season with all the renewed excitement around the team.
