The Browns will hope to field an electric combination between quarterback Deshaun Watson and wide receiver Amari Cooper when they take the field this season.

The Browns are currently practicing with the Philadelphia Eagles ahead of Thursday night’s preseason tilt. Cooper, for his part, is looking to build on the chemistry he forged last season with Watson, who unlike last season won’t begin this season serving an 11-game suspension for gross sexual misconduct.

Though Cooper dropped some balls in Monday’s practice, he likes where there partnership is at.

“Yeah, I like where our communication is,” Cooper told Doc Louallen of ClevelandBrowns.com. “Obviously, I dropped a couple of balls today. I like making my quarterback job as easy as possible, and I look forward to growing on today and all the previous practice days, but by the time the season comes, that’s why I go so hard. That’s why I practice. That’s why I grind. I just want to make his job easy.”

Cooper is also high on Watson being more comfortable this season.

“I asked him personally,” Cooper said. “He’s a lot more comfortable, obviously, him not playing for almost two years. When he first came back, he was just trying to get back to where he was. And I think just from talking to him, he feels like he’s back to him.”

If that’s the case, the Browns will almost certainly do better than last year’s disappointing 7-10 record.
