When it comes to Tom Brady and Gisele, Dick Vitale hopes love is not lost quite yet.

Vitale, the venerable voice of ESPN college basketball, is hoping the pair can come to a reconciliation. Days after it was reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and the Brazilian supermodel filed for divorce, Vitale took to his Twitter account on Monday morning. He wrote that he hopes that Brady and Gisele could “get back to happy times” again. In doing so, he likened the couple’s split to actor Sly Stallone’s brief breakup with his wife.

As it turns out though, he was not done on the Brady-Gisele soap opera that’s developed. The New York Post reached out to Dickie V, and he responded with a lengthy plea. Vitale noted how Tom and Gisele’s relationship had looked great from afar. Also, how it might affect their young children and that to him, none of the usual reasons for divorce exist in this situation:

“I have simply seen many pics over the years of the fantastic passion in the open they demonstrated with each other & the love they both have for their young children,” Vitale wrote in a text message to the Post. “Thus I hope ultimately they can sit down with a professional & work out their differences.”

“Tom playing football should not end a marriage of two people that have showed so much LOVE FOR EACH OTHER,” he wrote. “Yes I hope they can find a way to resolve their differences. Heck usually the end happens due to a 3rd party/ drugs- alcohol/ financial stress etc.

“I am not in anyway an expert or have any inside info – just know what I have read of this soap opera AS THE WORLD OF GISELE & TOM spins & I am hoping for a reconciliation that brings them & their children loads of HEALTH & HAPPINESS.”

Sometimes, you just never know who’s going to chime in on topics like this.
