Cincinnati Bengals superstar wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase had an absolutely dominant game last week against the Arizona Cardinals, catching 15 passes for 192 yards with three touchdowns. But Seattle Seahawks star receiver DK Metcalf seems to think that a rookie cornerback is going to shut him down this week.

During a press conference this week, DK Metcalf had high praise for Ja’Marr Chase after his dominant performance last week, but he thinks that Seattle Seahawks cornerback Devon Witherspoon will be able to cover him during their matchup this weekend.

“Just the long ball that I think [Joe] Burrow threw to him, like a 70-yard bomb — just how effortlessly he caught the ball,” Metcalf said according to Pro Football Talk. “He’s just a great receiver. I tip my hat off to him with what he’s done the first three years in the league. So, it’ll be fun to watch Sunday.

“But, I think ‘Spoon will get the best of him.”

Witherspoon was the No. 5 overall pick by the team in the 2024 NFL Draft and has played well so far this season, even having a 97-yard pick-six in the team’s win over the New York Giants this week.

We’ll have to see how he fares when he’s matched up against Chase this week.
