Last year, the Seattle Seahawks narrowly missed out on a playoff appearance, finishing just outside of the Wild Card spot. But based on the way star wide receiver DK Metcalf is talking, it sounds like the team fully expects to be back in the postseason this year.
During a recent interview, DK Metcalf revealed that he thinks the team has radically upgraded its roster this offseason, and he gave a pretty thorough breakdown of how he thinks the team has improved given the new faces on both sides of the ball.
“I mean, just the type of person [Smith-Njigba] is, first,” Metcalf said according to Pro Football Talk. “He’s a great dude. And on the field, he’s a great route runner, excellent hands. So, I think he’s going to open the offense even more. Him and Zach Charbonnet is going to do, you know, amazing things at the running back position along with Ken Walker. We got a whole arsenal of weapons on offense, adding Bobby [Wagner] back on defense, you know, a leader for not only the defense but the whole team.”
On paper, Metcalf is right – this certainly looks like a much better and more dominant football team heading into next season. We’ll have to see what that looks like in reality.
