NFL veteran Emmanuel Sanders has pretty much done it all and that’s perhaps why he’s decided to call it a career and retire.
The 35-year-old made the announcement via his Instagram account on Wednesday.
I’ve decided to retire from the National Football League. I had one hell of a ride. 3 Super Bowl Appearances, multiple pro bowls and a Super Bowl Champion. I gave the game everything I had and it treated me well which is why I’m happy with my decision. To everyone who supported me throughout my career.. thank you! To every organization that I played for.. thank you! To all my teammates and coaches.. thank you! To my family and friends… thank you! I came along way from the small town of Bellville, Texas. I was just a kid chasing after a dream and I caught it! God is the greatest!
Sanders ends his prolific NFL career with 704 catches, 9,245 yards, 51 touchdowns, two Pro Bowls, and a Super Bowl. A third-round selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2010, becoming part of a dynamic duo alongside Antonio Brown. However, Sanders saw himself as better than the No. 2 guy and left for the Denver Broncos in 2014 where he caught passes from Peyton Manning. He garnered a career-best 101 passes for 1,404 yards and nine touchdowns in his first season there and then caught 76 passes for 1,135 yards and six touchdowns on a team that won Super Bowl 50.
“I gave it my all. Every single rep, every single play, I tried to go 100 percent as hard as I can. And that’s why I can hang my hat and say I gave the game everything I had and the game gave it back to me.”@ESanders_10 announces his retirement as a Bronco: pic.twitter.com/q1QTmy673s

Sanders was traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2019 and would end his career with one season each with the New Orleans Saints and Buffalo Bills. All told, he played in three Super Bowls and caught passes from Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Josh Allen.
