In some sad news out of the NFL, the father of Kansas City Chiefs long snapper James Winchester was killed Tuesday in a shooting at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, according to Winchester’s agent.
I'm devastated to confirm for news outlets that my client @J_Winchester41 lost his father today to tragic & senseless gun violence at OKC.

Michael Winchester, a Southwest Airlines employee, was shot in the airport parking lot Tuesday. It is unclear if he knew the shooter, who is still at-large.
Will Rogers World Airport has been closed to commercial traffic since the shooting, and Southwest has canceled all remaining flights schedule for Tuesday, according to CNN.
James Winchester is in his second season with the Chiefs after playing one year for the Eagles. He played in college at Oklahoma and went unpicked in the 2013 NFL Draft.
This is the second time this week an NFL player’s family has been impacted by gun violence. Jaguars linebacker Telvin Smith left the team Sunday after his brother was shot and killed late Saturday night in Valdosta, Georgia.
