During the pre-draft process ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, nearly everyone knew that former Georgia Bulldogs star defensive tackle Jalen Carter was among the most talented players in the class, if not the top player in the class. But due to some off-the-field concerns, Carter fell to the Philadelphia Eagles with the No. 9 overall pick. And now, that pick is looking like a steal.

During Monday night’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jalen Carter played an absolutely dominant game.

“Jalen Carter WRECKED yet another game and played less than 50% of the defensive snaps:

• 5 total pressures (most on team)
• 0.5 sacks
• 1 QB hit
• 1 forced fumble
• 2 total tackles

Carter already looks like a Top-5 DT in the NFL and will only continue to get better.

Still crazy to think that this generational talent was passed on 8 times,” NFL Rookie Watch said in a post on X, the social media website formerly known as Twitter.

It’s pretty insane just how dominant Carter has been in his first season in the league, especially considering how far he fell in the draft. And it’s led to plenty of reactions on social media as a result.

It will be interesting to see how Carter’s career plays out from this point forward, because it looks like he has potential to be one of the best interior linemen of all time.
