During Sunday afternoon’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Jalen Hurts took a hit to his left knee in the second quarter. But even though he returned to the game and still helped lead the team to victory, it sounds like it still caused him some pain.

During his postgame press conference, Jalen Hurts did not speak very candidly about the specifics of his knee injury, but he did get brutally honest about the fact that he’s happy to have a little extra rest in the coming days with the team heading into a bye week.

“I don’t really know what to say,” Hurts said. “It was a gritty win, it was a gritty win. It was a tough win. Much respect to that team. Always very competitive and have great players. But I don’t think the bye week could come at a better time.”

After receiving praise from his teammates for his toughness, Hurts made it clear that while he doesn’t necessarily enjoy playing injured, he’s willing to do “whatever it takes” to help the team.

“I don’t like it being that way,” Hurts said. “I love to be all good but, as I said I’d do anything for this city and for my teammates. It takes what it takes and that’s simply put. Whatever it takes and I’m just happy that we were able to gut out this win and we showed so much resilience.”

We’ll have to see how Hurts is able to recover from the injury over the next two weeks.
