Philadelphia Eagles superstar center appeared to be quite emotional following Monday night’s season-ending loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round of the playoffs leading to speculation that he could be choosing to retire. And as it turns out, that speculation appears to be true.

According to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, Jason Kelce told his Philadelphia Eagles teammates following the game that he does indeed intend to retire this offseason.

Six-time All-Pro and future Hall-of-Fame center Jason Kelce told his Eagles’ teammates in Monday night’s postgame locker room that he is in fact retiring, per league sources,” Schefter said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.

“The 36-year-old Kelce became visibly emotional at the end of the Eagles’ 32-9 loss to the Buccaneers. He has considered retiring after other recent seasons, but this time is said to be real and happening.”

Obviously, this is a big and noteworthy decision as Kelce was one of the biggest starts on the roster and was widely considered one of the top centers in the entire league. He’s been a big part of the Eagles’ success both as a leader in the locker room as well as his performance on the field.
